You’ve probably been using your dry shampoo wrong. It’s like eating a piece of cake, is there REALLY a wrong way to do it? Well, if you’ve been spraying dry shampoo on your roots in the mornings before heading out the door then the answer is YES!

When to Use It

The best way to use dry shampoo is before bed! Your scalp produces the most oil overnight. Using dry shampoo proactively while the oil is being produced increases your chances of catching the problem while it happens. Another reason that using dry shampoo overnight is better is that you are actually giving the product the time it needs to work. Most of us spray our roots and brush the product through the hair before it absorbs anything.

Leaving it on overnight allows the ingredients time to absorb oil, sweat, and odor.

Our Overnight Dry Shampoo

We formulated the takesumi detox® overnight dry shampoo with time-activated ingredients. We also, of course, included activated charcoal, as it is known for its powerful ability to absorb odor. Sometimes your hair isn’t even oily on day two, but the all too familiar and unpleasant smell of second-day hair is enough to make you want to wash it! Now there is no need to wash your hair as the charcoal eliminates odor and deodorizes, so all you are left with is the smell of fresh sakura blossoms (our custom signature fragrance blend!)
