Why Cruelty-free Beauty Is So Important To Me

When I decided to start my own beauty company, there were a few things that were non-negotiable for me – the first was that it had to be cruelty-free. Unfortunately, in the cosmetic industry, animals like my first rescue animal, BunBun the rabbit, are used in animal testing every day.

The first product I created for kaia naturals was the juicy bamboo cleansing cloths. I am horrified to say, but with products like facial cleansing cloths, the liquids used are tested by pouring the solution into the eyes of bunnies and other lab animals. This is to test the formulation against eye irritation.

The thought of pouring liquid into any innocent animal’s eyes was truly frightening. I could never imagine harming any animal for a beauty product, which is why kaia naturals will always be cruelty-free.
