Whether you love ’em, hate ’em, or fall somewhere in between, your breasts are not something that can be ignored. Breast health is something that all women should be conscious of.
You might be thinking to yourself, “I’m only in my twenties and the “big C” doesn’t run in my family. I don’t need to check my breasts for signs of cancer, right?”
Wrong.
Did you know that 1 in 8 women in North America will develop breast cancer over the course of their lives?
While we don’t mean to scare you, the truth is that, statistically, you or someone in your group of friends is likely to battle the complex disease.
That’s why today, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we challenge all women (regardless of their age!) to give their breasts some TLC.
T – ouch them. Seriously, feel them up!
L – ook for changes. Do you spot any lumps? Is there redness?
C – heck with a doctor. After all, they know best.
Try and get in the habit of doing a breast self-examination once a month to familiarize yourself with how your breasts normally look and feel.
Always remember, early detection is the best protection.
