Good morning everyone! I decided to do something a little different this month and share with you my monthly favorites. From beauty products to inspiring people, I thought I’d give a little insight into what I’m loving!

New Favorite Elixir

I just recently discovered this delicious piquant elixir served by my friend and fellow entrepreneur, Graydon! She made it at a dinner party one night and I loved it so much that I had to share! It’s extremely simple – just place equal parts fresh ginger and turmeric, fresh lemon juice, maple syrup and a spoonful of ground coriander seeds, black pepper and cloves all into a juicer. Once you’re done juicing, serve in a shot glass and you’re done!

TIP: Turmeric can help with blood sugar control, inflammation, and digestions so this elixir is the perfect way to kick off a dinner party or the perfect way to start your morning.

Mid-day Snack

The 3 o’clock munchies are always a problem for me, so having a healthy go-to snack on hand keeps me on track. Lately, my fave has been Rubbins Gluten Free Barbeque Crinkle Cut Rice Crackers. These crackers come prepackaged so it’s super convenient for me to bring to the office, and keep at my desk. I love that they are gluten free, oven baked and portioned to prevent you from devouring an entire bag! Who doesn’t love a guilt-free snack?

Hair Care

It always seems like there is never enough time in the day; however, there are a few parts of my beauty routine that I always set aside time for. I exfoliate my face twice per week, mask once per month and I clarify my hair of product build-up once per week. I have been loving this great find – the Phillip Adam Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo. I purchased this from Wholefoods and I love how well it deep cleans my hair! When I checked the ingredient label, I noted that it has a high percentage of apple cider vinegar so I know that it actually has efficacy. It’s also made in Vancouver! I love fellow Canadian brands.

Role Model

Ruth Bader Ginsberg has always been one of my favourite role models, as she’s the second woman to ever be appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court Justice. When she first began her career, she faced many challenges in a male-dominated industry. At the time women joining the workforce was relatively unheard of, yet she persevered through some tough professional challenges. Ruth said:

“MY MOTHER TOLD ME TWO THINGS CONSTANTLY.  ONE WAS TO BE A LADY, AND THE OTHER WAS TO BE INDEPENDENT”

This really resonates with me to this day!  A woman should always work hard to be independent, but at the same time be a lady and show grace despite challenges. Ruth’s journey is truly inspiring and if I were to give one piece of advice to young women today, I would tell them the same thing!

Thank you for reading my June Favorites. I’d love to hear what you’re loving lately!

Sincerely,
