NASA’s Clean Air Study found that there are a number of air purifying plants that detoxify your home from airborne toxins, dust and germs that can accumulate from a variety of household products, materials and furniture. 

So, to give your home a constant breath of fresh air, here’s our list of some of the best NASA approved air purifying plants: 

SPIDER PLANTS

These plants are able to get rid of toxins such as formaldehyde, xylene and toluene. They are also known to absorb mould and allergens. 

GOLDEN POTHOS/ DEVIL’S IVY

This leafy plant will rid the air of formaldehyde, xylene, benzene, and trichloroethylene. However, be sure to keep this plant away from pets as it can be toxic to them.  

ARECA PALMS

This plant eliminates carbon monoxide, benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene and xylene.

ALOE VERA

Aloe vera has long been used to treat cuts and burns but this plant is also an efficient air pollutant catcher, removing formaldehyde and benzene toxins from the air.
